Universal Design is not a new concept; however, it is time for a paradigm shift. This course prompts the question – should I offer Universal Design solutions to all of my clients regardless of their age or ability? This material provides compelling reasons for recommending Universal Design beyond the status quo. No longer limited to an institutional look, design and building professionals are empowered to exceed client expectations with this new worldview.

Learning Objectives:

  • Be inspired to create positive changes in the lives of others through the power of design

  • Understand the strength and influence of Universal Design and the benefits of change

  • Review Canadian demographics and identify the business opportunities that exist

  • Learn the differences between CSA B-651, ADA and Universal Design

  • Discuss ways to incorporate the seven principles of Universal Design in your projects

  • Review how to specify and install fixtures and faucets with universal use in the kitchen & bathroom
