A hub of the business community, the Haliburton Chamber wanted a more professional and inviting, accessible space for its employees and members to work in, and hold meetings and events. We focused the small budget on improving the layout, furnishings and decor, and called upon local businesses to donate materials and time. We created a reception area, one-on-one meeting space, accessible service area and meeting room.
The historically significant Highlands of Haliburton tartan was used to upholster the chairs and in window covering, while cookies (log off cuts) were used as wall decoration. Bulky black seats at the large meeting table were replaced with acrylic chairs. And the focal point of the room is the large table made of locally harvested timber was custom built for the space.
