Bitter Lake Kitchen

Bitter Lake Kitchen

After retiring to Haliburton where they could be closer to friends and family, our clients decided to transform their cottage kitchen. They asked us to create a traditional-style kitchen fit for their love of cooking and entertaining large groups.

The very first time we stepped into this space we were taken by the stunning forest view outside the kitchen windows. It became the inspiration for our colour palette. Soft greens and rich browns are echoed in the eight comfortable stools, which are covered in Crypton’s luxe performance fabric. They surround the incredible 14-foot island that is topped with Cambria’s Ironsbridge Matte quartz. The island is finished with Benjamin Moore’s Tuscany Green that was glazed to create a rustic look. We also added details like corbels and beadboard to give a hint of a country aesthetic.

We selected a black faucet and drawer pulls to tie-in the chandelier, which was a loved piece from the original kitchen. Hidden from sight are convenient accessories like a stand mixer lift stay and a pull-out knife stand, and stunning Ralph Lauren roman shades on the windows.
