Drag Lake Bedroom & Ensuite

Few bedrooms have a view this spectacular, so the cottage owner had long dreamed of updating it and adding an ensuite bathroom. Our team was thrilled to make it happen for her. We envisioned a relaxing, elegant space with a coastal feel.

The decor was inspired by brand new Ralph Lauren fabric called Nakuru Floral, which we used for the Euro pillows on the bed. We loved its soothing chambray colour and geometric pattern. To create the coastal feel, we added white shiplap to the walls and laid wire-brushed white oak hardwood flooring. Glass light fixtures lend the elegant feel.

To make the long and narrow space feel cosy, we centered the room with the bed, inset electric fireplace and framed TV, which has a setting to make the screen appear to be artwork. The Jaipur wool rug grounds the room and softens the space. Finally, we added a custom armchair near the window for place to relax and take in the priceless view.

The ensuite bathroom continues in the same palette. The stunning herringbone tile is the star of the room, and the glass shower wall lets it shine through. To keep the bathroom from feeling too stark we chose a wood vanity, which adds just enough warmth. Finishing touches like the silver hardware, Turkish towel and white shower-wall inset reinforce the contemporary aesthetic.
